“Wholeness”

Acrylic on gallery wall. 9’x5’.

Viewing her own definition of identity — as well as her own selfhood — as fluid, this work is an exploration of time and thought. The artist is made up of tiny experiences all as valid and whole on their own as they are in connection. With strong emotions tied to color and shape, Sarah Lew depicts both mundane and extraordinary instances within each circle. Through deconstruction, the work allows for a new way to witness the self.

This work aims to observe and celebrate the moments that help us realize who we are. Ongoing. Expansive. Whole.

Installed at the 410 Project, Mankato.
